VEIN TREATMENTS
Description
The Lyra-i produces a 1064nm wavelength. While the rest of the skin is almost completely transparent for this wavelength, it is highly absorbed in blood. Thus, the laser beam passes through the skin and penetrates the targeted vessel. The laser energy heats up and coagulates blood inside the vessel. Unsupported, vessel walls collapse and seal. These vessels later dissolve within the body.
What to Expect Post Treatment
Fine veins may blanch, larger veins are thicker and may blanch or turn grayish and flatten. You should not see a refill/rebound after the vessel is depressed. The onset of surrounding erythema (reddening) and edema occurs in a few minutes. Erythema can last a few days, some smaller superficial vessels could form a cat scratch scab over vein patch, and larger veins will take a few weeks to fade.
Expected Final Outcome
Usually takes one to three treatments. Larger vessels may take up to eight weeks to fade.
