MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is a technical name for what is essentially a deep exfoliating procedure which reduces the appearance of scarring, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation problems, uneven skin tones, and a dull, lifeless, sun-damaged complexion.

This treatment, suitable for all skin types, is a safe and effective way of exfoliating the skin without using any chemicals or laser. The machine effects a deep, cleansing massage whereby crystals exfoliate the skin to gently resurface the superficial layers. This procedure will also stimulate new collagen and elastin production thus improving fine lines and texture. The vacuum pressure of the treatment is customised according to the client's needs and skin type.

Optimum results are obtained through a series of treatments, typically four to eight treatments, spaced seven to 14 days apart. Significant results should be seen in four to five weeks.

There are no side-effects to this treatment (which takes about 30 mins to administer) and no recovery time is required. Mild redness may occur for 30 mins to half a day after the Microdermabrasion procedure, depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment.
